the hell week finally ended! i got to have some alone time today, so i made some cupcakes and goofed around. : ) other happy things: my mouth's sort of stopped hurting, i found my ipod, the zoo was pretty, jill's visit went over fairly ok, and everyone i gave cupcakes to really liked them. i've been having really weird, vivid dreams lately, but i've also had a really tough time getting enough sleep and i feel like i'm hungover every morning for no good reason. grr. oh and i discovered how much i despise family circus and the fact that everything is centered around christian holidays. who cares about easter??

things have been pretty wonderful lately... -running into people in odd places -connecting and reconnecting with people -meeting new people -learning to be more laid back -marveling at the strange little quirks of everydayness -second majors -being more comfortable in very awkward situations so far, the only slightly bad thing this month is that i've been followed home by three different strangers, one of whom kept babbling about my aura and trying to give me a neck rub. but i find that more amusing than creepy. i spent a lovely early-afternoon wandering around campus with marisa trying to get people to dance and making up fantastic stories about a couple we followed. definitely brilliant!

i'm definitely burned out on the whole college thing. urgh! a prof suggested i should take time off, but i didn't really take him seriously. maybe study abroad instead? but then i found a i have a random connection with this family in buenos aires and could possibly end up there for awhile. that'd be beautiful! in need of a break. plus my last vacation was an uber cheap excuse for a vacation... hrm.
"I was just doing my job, when this time space continuum riped open and I had to start killing zombies" in other news, i also discovered that i know too many people named jeff and have confused two of them beyond repair. =(

today i cleaned my room and found so many things i thought were long gone. in the corner was a small pile of relics from the end of summer: subway passes, maps, brochures, receipts. it all made me feel so nostalgic, so i gathered everything up and stuffed them into my journal. now it’s fat and refuses to lie flat! the tragedy! school's started. ugh! back to being up this early and being overly tired. yippee! classes are pretty cool, i like all my ta's, and there are tons of new people floating around. but i really don't want to be here...! going to the east coast gave me a travel bug, so now i'm uber jealous of erin and rita and evan and pretty much anyone who can just get up and leave. iceland for winter break sounds fun... anyone with me?

california was wonderful. a bit dreamy, like i wasn't really there. fun, though. got to drive around and see old haunts, bump into random people i haven't seen in years, go to some parties, and just general good vibe things. things have changed so much, but there are parts of it i still love. like capitola. we all went out to santa cruz and capitola one day and frolicked on the beach. i forgot how pathetic washington beaches were! then we drove back via 1 and la honda. it was beautiful. just gorgeous. so much happened.... =) i feel blissed out just remembering!

so cranworx was awesome.... beyond awesome.

bad days always turn into good days when they end with skinny dipping! Tue, Jun. 20th, 2006, 10:53 pm
8:30 is really really really early, isn't it?
*big* news of the day: i'm now officially a latin american studies major.
gah! the uw is so stupidly bureaucratic! i had to go through at least four different offices to declare, with each trying to make me sign a different copy of the same paper i already got from the first person...!
and in the real world, life is going really swell. Sat, Jun. 10th, 2006, 11:42 pm
*ahem!* so far, this vacation has been beautiful! wonderous! fantastic! there's so many interesting things everywhere, i wish everyone could just mill about instead of working or schooling or whatever... anyways, i was thinking of writing a long entry, but now i can't think of anything meaningful to say. oh well, i guess that's just the way things are headed today. :)
- http://depts.washington.edu/chid/clowescenter.htm -they actually have fire alarms! and they're oh-so-much more pleasant on the ears! heh! why am i so excited about that? not a fire drill, yet people still move just as slowly as if it were. "isn't it dangerous to lean against the building?" "nah, stone doesn't burn... right?" i love my school. apparently it was all because of a "shady smoker in the toilets." i heart my geography lecturer as well. Mon, May. 1st, 2006, 03:21 pm ahem!
my hair is (mostly) gone! i feel so naked 24 days left in the quarter!!!! road trip actually panning out! headachey but life is goodish today.
Tue, Apr. 18th, 2006, 06:04 pm
argh! i don't want to do any school things. and there's not enough time to do anything interesting before i need to leave. but there's just enough time for me to be BORED out of my mind! thus, i update. erhm.... i found a library in gould that i didn't know existed, even though i walk by it at least once a week. must be too tired to notice. it looks like i'm going to have to have 9:30 mornings every thursday until the end of the quarter. i guess i'd better get used to 4 hours of sleep a night. that or give up lovely sunshine in favor of studying. stupid everything! there shouldn't be these kinds of choices!! i also realized recently that sis 202 has lecture right before my political theory class. suddenly it makes sense why it seems like i know everyone who's leaving the room! this is like a genius moment for me....! anyways, the weather sucks. it's warm and pretty, but too cold for anything but pants!! being tired also sucks. i just want to curl up in bed and go to sleep. but noooo! that would make life too easy. if i could do what i want, then i'd obviously explode! *yawn* oh well! the blue-haired boy's hair is fading. if he dyes it another color, my world will be turned upside down! i won't be able to figure out anything! hehehe!

"Slice Through the City"
Metro's Routes #49 & #7 make a slice through Seattle. In this slice, you can begin to see and perhaps appreciate the richness and diversity of experience this city has to offer in its everyday environment. The objective is to observe and record in narrative form selected characteristics of the urban landscape in this particular slice.
This project is one of movement through a city, at 25 mph or so, from within a particular environment undergoing a particular function. Yes, there are lots of qualitative conditions affecting your reading. There always are.
____ so yeah. in case we actually wanted to sit in a classroom, we're all doomed from the start. my prediction: much better than writing a paper on plato, stupid plato. =P
*just thought i'd share my exciting school week with the world!* Tue, Mar. 28th, 2006, 10:43 pm dalliance...
...is an interesting word! anywho, canada was quite awesome. hot springs + beautiful natureness + fantastic people = bliss. in case you were wondering. =P so what's going on.... hmm... school's just started up again, so there goes my lovely free-time. in need of a job & $$ (if anyone's feeling generous...!) my ta for poli sci is pretty cool, but my other courses look kind of scary. the urban planning prof is like the college level equivalent of yudin. even his syllabus was like multiple packets because he kept rambling on in them and didn't bother to combine it all into one document. oh well! good sign that he and his ta don't believe in grades? woot! the lecturer for geography is this cute british grad student with the prettiest accent around. =) argh! mid-year lull! my eyes are getting worse. everyone keep bugging me to wear glasses, but it's kind of nice to walk around in this blurry bubble. but people gets slightly annoyed when i'll walk right past them without noticing them. i had my first nosebleed today and i totally flipped out. i was out and about and now my shirt has all this blood all over it. it's funny, though, how most strangers won't stop to help. a distant world, eh? what else? a friend of a friend might let me come stay with him in NY over the summer. c's staying out in wildernessland for awhile more, so i'm guessing that's over. *dramatic sigh* whatever. there's nothing interesting to report today. bleck!
Wed, Mar. 15th, 2006, 11:12 pm butterflies!
so C is coming back in a couple of weeks! nervous/happiness. =) eeeeeeeee!! whew, just had to get that out. so many people coming and going, too many things changing. a whirlwind! woosh! am quite happy right now. in love with love, but still content. all is good, i suppose.
